The Blue Badger is the most disturbing thing you will find in the original trilogy (unless you count the time Phoenix swore in Turnabout Samurai), so it's only fair the song that surrounds it is either creepy or full of people who hate it.
This was my interpretation.
KEY: Phoenix Ema Gumshoe Lotta Kristoph Jake Marshall
Hey, Ema, that's Detective Gumshoe over there. Detective!
Looks like he didn't hear you, Mr Wright. Hey, is he...dancing?
Look at how he moves, fighting for justice! Look at how he sways, with a passion for all good! Look at how he dances with that smile of his Without a rest - look at him and watch him go!
Is he...dancing with that cardboard thing?
Whatever it is, people don't seem to like it.
Look at how he moves, fighting for justice! / Look at how it moves! ...justice ain't the word! Look at how he sways, with a passion for all good! / Look at how it sways. Is it safe and well and good? Look at how he dances with that smile of his / Look at how it dances, with those undulations! Without a rest - look at him and watch him go! / It's disturbing! What even IS that thing?!
Hey, I remember now!
You do?
Yeah, that's the Blue Badger. They're trying to make him the police mascot - oh, no.
What?
Detective Gumshoe saw us.
He's coming this way...and he sure doesn't look happy.

Funny...it's like he recorded himself singing, and then stuck some sort of speaker inside that cardboard thing.
Whatever it is, people don't seem to like it.

This is a great improvement, but I wanted to ask, are the two bits separate verses? Like I know we have the bit where Gummy comments after the lines, but is it a separate thing to where the others are commenting after the lines?
It sounds like a dumb question but just making sure!

Like I know we have the bit where Gummy comments after the lines, but is it a separate thing to where the others are commenting after the lines? It sounds like a dumb question but just making sure! Basically, this song has three verses. The first verse is just the Blue Badger singing (which is basically a poorly recorded version of Gumshoe). The second verse is the Blue Badger AND Gumshoe singing. The third verse has the same audio as the second, but it also has other people commenting about Gumshoe's creation. I've tried to format the below as an example. Word on the same column are sang at the same time. I AM YOUR PROTECTOR, YOUR BEST BLUE FRIENDLOOK AT HOW HE MOVES, FIGHTING FOR JUSTICETHAT AIN'T NO PROTECTOR JUSTICE AIN'T THE WORD!
I hope this helps.
